Empowerment Services
Freedom Resource Center assists people in working towards
goals they establish for themselves. Whether it be resources
to learn a new skill, some help with advocacy to get a needed
service, the support of a mentor, or basic information on
programs or equipment, Freedom helps people make informed
decisions about how they will live their lives. Services include:
Information & Referral
Freedom Resource Center provides information
on any disability-related topics, referrals to appropriate
agencies and programs, and assistance in applying for services.

Eligibility: Anyone seeking disability related information

Independent Living Skills Training
Freedom Resource Center offers a variety of training to increase independence including budgeting,
meal planning, social skills
training, organizational skills, driver's test training and personal care.

Eligibility: Any person of any age who has a disability in
the Freedom Resource Center coverage area.
Individual Advocacy
Freedom Resource Center staff provides assistance and/or representation
in obtaining access to benefits, services and programs you
may be eligible for. This includes teaching individuals to
advocate for themselves and/or attending meetings with individuals.
Freedom Resource Center works to ensure that people are empowered
to make choices and have input in all aspects of their lives.

Peer Mentoring
Freedom Resource Center staff recruits and trains people with
disabilities who can foster independence in others by becoming
a peer mentor and matches them with individuals who may be
experiencing similar situations.
