The American’s with Disabilities Act is turning 30.  Countless small victories and triumphs over the years bring us to where we are now.  The ADA’s purpose is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as anybody else.  Today we would like to focus on the ADA’s impact on employment opportunities for people with disabilities.  First of all, we are fortunate to live in a region surrounded by amazing employers who recognize that people with disabilities are a vital asset.  One such employer is Dr. Dawn’s Pet Stop in Jamestown, ND.  Dr. Dawn was recently recognized by the Mayors Committee on Disabilities in Jamestown for her exemplary employment and support of individuals with disabilities.  Dawn has an amazing team, and the heart of that team is without a doubt Kelly Monson.  Kelly was also recognized by the Mayors Committee for his years of providing care and comfort to animals during routine surgeries.  Freedom Resource Center’s own Tom Thompson and Beth Dewald attended the ceremony.  Check out the story from Newsdakota.com.  We are proud to celebrate equal employment opportunities the ADA ensures and the great employers that provide them.
