It doesn’t seem reasonable to say this, but the Corona Virus could make the world more accessible for people with disabilities.  When we talk about barriers to employment, we can start with transportation.  Transportation is a major barrier for so many.  In some communities, public transportation is limited or even non-existent on weekends.  This makes it nearly impossible to get to work.  Having the ability to work from home would be a game changer. Check out this article on the BBC.  It is clear that accessibility has a long way to go, but the time to make changes is now.

If you or someone you know struggles with accessibility and needs additional resources to remove barriers to independence please call Freedom Resource Center at 1-800-450-0459 or visit us at freedomrc.org.
