Earlier this week we covered the shrinking workforce tasked in taking care of the most vulnerable population. If you missed it, I will share it again here. Today, there is hope that something can be done about it.  Recently, a direct support bill called the Direct Care Opportunity Act was introduced, giving many a reason for optimism.  Check out this story on Disability Scoop. It is difficult for agencies to attract and retain direct care workers.  With unpredictable schedules, a lack of health benefits and low pay, there is little incentive. The Direct Care Opportunity Act takes aim at all of these issues.
