Improving Accessibility, Building Confidence
Improving accessibility and building confidence; just a few examples of how advocates, peer mentors and leaders come together to improve access to the community in which they live. Living with a disability has a way of putting you at odds with your surroundings. Whether it is an accessibility issue, or just coming to terms with a recent diagnosis. Having a peer mentor can make all the difference. We are truly blessed to work with so many wonderful people, who despite facing challenges of their own, make time to help others overcome barriers to independence. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is listen when no one else can. The Peer Mentor program is just one of the core services provided by Freedom Resource Center at no cost. We also offer a temporary ramp program that provides quick home and community access. But we can’t do it alone. We need your support more than ever this year to help ensure that our advocates and mentors can continue the fight for inclusion and independence. Whether it’s in a school or at your home, we are here to listen, provide guidance and encouragement.
