Independent Living Skills Training
We offer a variety of training to increase independence including budgeting, meal planning, social skills training, organizational skills, driver’s test training and personal care.
We recruit and train people with disabilities who can foster independence in others by becoming a peer mentor and match them with individuals who may be experiencing similar situations.
Efforts made to implement local, state and federal policy changes to make facilities, services and opportunities available and accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Facilitate the transition of individuals with disabilities from nursing homes and other institutions to home and community-based services; provide assistance to individuals with disabilities who are at risk of entering institutions so that the individuals remain in the community; and facilitate the transition of youth with disabilities, who have completed their secondary education or other left school to postsecondary life.
