Skills To Feed, Skills We Need
Cooking is something that we all rely on to survive. Whether we cook at home or go out to eat, cooking is vital. Last week we talked about Freedom In Action (FIA) a bit and some of the free classes that Freedom Resource Center offers. If you missed it I will share it again here. Recently, Freedom Resource Center in Jamestown offered Cooking 101, a free six week class covering the basics of cooking, shopping and eating healthy on a budget. Freedom In Action is a monthly social and learning experience that takes place in communities served by Freedom. Activities and classes vary and requests can be made for specific activities such as drawing and painting. Maddie Dunford attended several Freedom In Action events and appreciates having the opportunity. “We get to try something new, everybody is in it together. We laugh about it, and everyone is friendly and supportive.”
On November 19th, Freedom Resource Center in Fargo is offering an extended Freedom In Action that will teach participants how to weave. No experience is necessary and you will get to take home your creations. The fun starts on Tuesday November 19th at 1:30pm and goes until 3:30pm. Additional classes will be on Tuesday November 26th and December 3rd. Again, this will be offered at the Fargo office which is located at 2701 9th Ave S. Suite H Fargo, ND 58103. To register call Diane at 701-478-0459 or call 1-800-450-0459.
Hot Cocoa Snowmen
Also on November 19th, at the Fergus Falls location, Freedom In Action is heating up with Hot Cocoa Snowmen. Make adorable Cocoa Containers while enjoying some hot chocolate. You get to keep your Cocoa Snowmen and meet some really great people at the same time. The Fergus Falls office is located at 125 W Lincoln Ave. Suite #6 in Fergus Falls, MN. To register call Marie or Leigh at 218-998-1799 or 1-800-450-0459.

Social skills are used in nearly every situation we will encounter. Getting experience sharing ideas, learning a new skill or craft and connecting with new friends are just a few of the things you will take away from Freedom In Action. Don’t wait, the next Freedom In Action events are less than ten days away. We hope to see you there!
