Living in your own home can be challenging; but if you ask someone who is doing so because of access to resources, peer mentoring and skills training; they would tell you that it is worth it. Having the ability to choose what you make for dinner tonight, or having access to a store are just a few things that many of us take for granted. I want to share a story we did on independent living for you here.

In two weeks, charitable organizations in the community will be counting on help from the communities in which they serve for much needed donations through Giving Hearts Day. These donations have the ability to help so many in need by providing resources needed for improving and maintaining existing services.

Freedom Resource Center would like to use this opportunity to give back by continuing to provide services to people with disabilities so that they can experience true freedom. Freedom Resource Center is the premier leader of disability rights in the region with offices in Fargo, Fergus Falls, Jamestown, Lisbon and Wahpeton.

Giving Hearts Day is our opportunity to ensure we can continue to provide resources that strengthen personal development and promote further independence for people with disabilities.

Please join us this Valentine’s day in making sure that everyone can enjoy the freedom of independent living by donating online at givingheartsday.org.
