FRC’s second annual fair brought local resources and community members together.
Finding the right resources can make a difference in someone’s ability to live independently and participate in their community. But knowing where to look or who to contact can sometimes be a challenge.
That’s why FRC hosted its second annual Freedom Resource Fair! With more than 70 vendors, organizations, and community partners in attendance, the event brought a wide range of resources together in one place for community members to explore.
Resources for Every Community
The fair featured organizations offering housing resources, transportation options, disability services, healthcare and wellness support, recreation opportunities, advocacy, and more. Attendees could visit booths, ask questions, learn about available services, enter door prize drawings, and grab some food along the way.
Bringing these resources together gave attendees a chance to discover services they may not have known about, ask questions, and learn where to turn when they need support.
Katelyn Vilmo, an independent living advocate and peer mentor specialist at FRC, shared why bringing organizations together matters.
“We work together with so many agencies, they work together with us, and we all have one purpose, and that is to help people.”

Making these connections is one way FRC puts its mission into action: providing services that increase independence for people with disabilities. Having access to information and support can help people explore their options, make informed decisions, and find opportunities that work for them.
Building Stronger Connections
The fair was also a chance for community members and organizations to connect with one another. By sharing their knowledge, services, and expertise, participating organizations helped attendees learn more about the support available throughout the area.
For attendee Kay, the fair offered an opportunity to meet organizations and discover where to turn for help.
“I came because it gives me a chance to meet all these organizations that help people who don’t know where to go. It connects you, it’s a good feeling.”

We’re grateful to the more than 70 vendors, organizations, and community partners who shared their time and resources, as well as everyone who stopped by and helped make this year’s fair a success!
Events like this support FRC’s vision of a world where people with disabilities are equal and valued participants in society. Bringing people and resources together helps build a stronger community where more people can find the information, support, and connections they need.
Thank you for being part of our second annual Freedom Resource Fair. We’re so glad you joined us, and we look forward to seeing you next year!
